Internet Usage Patterns

A report published by Nielson Online has revealed that trends in internet usage has changed, Britons are now choosing to log on for online communities rather than for communication and traditional content sites.

The study shows a trend of users spending more time on user generated social websites, and users are now spending more time on such sites as Facebook than instant communication services such as MSN, the reason for such being the increased user experience and entertainment on such sites.

Mobile infancy may still be in its primary stages, but it looks set to further increase the time user spend on such social sites indicating even further change in how the internet is used in the future.
