Being fans of photography, we, in the 360 office, were very excited to hear that Life magazine are making their entire photo collection available online.
In conjunction with Google you can search millions of photographs from the LIFE photo archive, stretching from the 1750s to today, with many never having been published at all.
From intimate images of Jacqueline Kennedy in the White House to harrowing images of World War II then to mesmerizing snapshots of the glamorous Academy Awards there are photographs to captivate anyone.
This partnership, Google claims, is part of the Search Engine giants aim to organise the worlds information. The task will involve the digitisation of about 10 million photos, with only 20% currently done to date and with many of them being in the form of negatives, slides, glass plates, etchings, and prints, Google certainly have their work cut out for them.
All images can be found at Life Archive supported by Google.
