From the people behind hit Hollywood movies Kick Ass and Wanted, a new comic convention is coming to London in April 2011. 360innovate were asked to provide a versatile website that would reflect the ambition of this huge event.
The world of comics may bring to mind visions of the geeky 'comic book guy' from the Simpsons, but these days it is big business and the centre of a creative hub that holds huge influence in Hollywood and has amassed an army of fans, young and old, across the globe.
Bringing together the biggest names in the industry for this event and coordinating a potential 40,000 people over one weekend was a huge job and 360innovate were asked to create a website design that would appeal to comic fans from all over the world, reflecting the grand ambition of the event and allowing regular updates to the site content.
Working closely with the client, 360innovate set about creating a bespoke content managed solution that was sophisticated enough to accommodate the unique web design requirements of the project whilst also seeking to make the site as aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Working against the clock and under the watchful eyes of a major studio that required tight control over their artwork, 360innovate produced a site that satisfied the brief and was described by the client as "the first professional Comic Con website in existence".
