The problem

Administering an estate is months of reading, drafting and chasing: dozens of statements, valuations and certificates to read, a schedule to reconcile by hand, standard letters to write to every institution, and the inheritance-tax figures to assemble. Case-management software generates the forms, but only from data a fee-earner has already keyed in.

What it does

  • Reads the estate's documents, the will, statements, valuations, and builds a reconciled asset and liability schedule
  • Handles the mechanical valuations correctly, including accrued interest and the listed-share quarter-up rule
  • Cross-checks against the will, flags what is missing, and drafts and tracks the chasing letters
  • Works out excepted estate or full IHT400, then assembles the schedule figures for you to check
  • Drafts the estate accounts and the standard correspondence, with the source document behind every figure

What it runs on

  • The estate's documents: will, statements, valuations, certificates
  • Your firm's letter templates
  • Sits alongside your case management. UK data residency, and no training on your data

Who it's for

High-street private client solicitors and professional will writers

Why it works

UK probate software generates forms and accounts from data a fee-earner types in. None reads the estate's raw documents and builds the schedule for you, which is where the hours go. The AI-native estate tools that do this are built for the United States and Canada, not UK inheritance tax. Probity takes on the reading, extraction and first-draft assembly, with a source document behind every figure and a fee-earner checking and signing, as the SRA requires. It sits alongside the case management you already run.

In early access

Probity is being built with a first group of firms. If this is your line of work and it sounds useful, put your name down and we will be in touch.

Not sure it is a fit, or want to talk about a different bottleneck in your firm? The call is for that too. We will tell you honestly if AI is the wrong tool.
